The victory of the Historic Pact coalition was won by the ex-mayor of Bogota and also the former senator of Republic. He was officially the candidate for President of the Republic and is the position he has always wanted to achieve for the third consecutive time.

He is the most authentic persona in the Colombian left, and is a credible candidate for president, despite his controversial ideas and proposals on many fronts, including economic.

Petro declared his intention to change the pension system by establishing a public administrator for pension funds. This will allow Petro to blend the public and private funds to create an "mixed complementar system."

The candidate said that Colombia doesn't have a retirement system, but rather a system that makes bank profits. Many believe this will prevent him from becoming President. However, Petro recently said that he would not eliminate them but would seek pension reform to achieve a minimum pension for Colombians. Petro also said that it is not necessary to increase the age of retirement.

Another controversy about him is that he frequently promises that he will cease oil extraction once he takes office. This has led to uncertainty among investors as well as the market.

Experts say Petro's idea of ending oil exploration would be devastating for Colombia, costing Colombia $4.3 trillion.

This plan includes the establishment of an anti-oil front both in the region and around all over the world to shift the economy away fro fossil fuels. I would like to invite Gabriel Boric to Chile and LuizInacio Lula de Silva to join me.

Petro claimed that he'd talked to Pedro Sanchez, Spain's Prime Minister, about his proposal.

He also cast doubt on the independence the Banco de la Republica. He also announced that he would make reforms in the event he became the president.

Petro asserts that the Bank's Board of Directors is part of a political party called the Democratic Center. Therefore, Petro claims, "What we want" is an independent Bank of the Republic (...). The candidate said that in the middle of an argument.
